An Open Letter For My Clients

I should start this by saying how much I truly do love and miss you. It's not just something I'm saying out of obligation, but as a client, you are at the heart of what we do and how we make a living and for that I am forever grateful. I'm sure you have a lot of questions that we may not have answers to right now, and that's okay. One solid thing we do know is that next time you visit the salon, there will be a new normal. I'm not sure the new normal is bad, or good. At this moment, I'm feeling indifferent about it BUT I recognize the importance of creating that new norm right now.

We will reopen, at some point. It's different for every state, every salon, and in some cases, every stylist. Here are some helpful things that you as a client can do to help navigate this new normal:

Know you were missed terribly and I am so incredibly grateful for your return

Know that all safety measures were created for everyone involved

Know the importance of coming alone, extra people in the salon compromises everyone

Know that I cannot physically work 16 hour days 7 days a week, rest is essential for all of us, including me

Know that your initial services may take more time

Know that coming in sick is NOT an option

Know that walk-ins will not be an option for anything (even product purchase) PLEASE call us beforehand to take care of you

Know that rescheduling hundreds of clients will take time

Know that when you arrive you will need to wait until I give you the go ahead to enter the building! Having your cell phone handy in your car for the go-ahead will help considerably

Know that I am thrilled to see you but don't want or need a hug, just seeing you is the best hug ever

Know that your health is the biggest concern

Know that I may choose to open at a later date than the state has allowed! Being respectful of that decision takes an unimaginable load off of my brain and heart

Know that I've already lost thousands of dollars of income, and have no desire to replace it with a ventilator for either of us, so please be patient

Know that if your health is already high risk, you need to wait. Your health is more important

Know that a 'soft opening' will be anything but soft

Know that your opinion of the entire situation won't change laws and rules necessary for everyone's safety. Keep the conversations to hair and how we can make you feel beautiful

Know that while trying to connect with me, there are hundreds of others attempting the same thing. Responses will be slow but I am trying

Know, above all else, that no one is more excited about your arrival than me and I appreciate your help in making it the best appointment ever

I look forward so much to the day we re-open. Until then, stay safe and stay healthy.

xoxo
